"Particular strengths are the outstanding quality of pupils' personal development; the curriculum, with its breadth of classroom activities and enrichment opportunities; excellent care, guidance and support; and the 'family' atmosphere generated within the school."
OFSTED Report, January 2008
Bradfield C of E Primary School is raising £180,000 towards a building project that will equip the school for the twenty-first century.
Why do we need all this building?
The aim of the Primary Project is to improve the learning environment for the children and staff. The proposed plan for developments will make a huge difference. Our responsibility towards this £1million project is to raise 10% of the build cost, and the fittings and fixtures.
The new hall will provide:
- an area large enough for the children to exercise and play sport indoors, to meet the demands of the full P.E. curriculum, and encourage children to enjoy being healthy and active, whatever the weather.
- A much larger space, with a high standard of finish for whole school assembly and acoustically resourced for performances.
- Improved kitchen facilities to prepare healthy food.
- Additional toilets
Development of the old hall will provide
- A secure main entrance to the school.
- A library area and computer suite.
- A new classroom.
- A mezzanine floor will give high quality space above the old hall.
- Areas for small groups and individual children to work with adults.
These plans are not to support additional pupils. The new space is to improve provision for the current number of children, and address the challenges we face in the twenty-first century. The development will also provide an excellent and available resource for the local community of Bradfield and Stanford Dingley.
Bradfield C of E Primary has proved to be an enriching and vibrant part of the local community. We are asking you to help us raise the money to improve its facilities and the services it offers.
