"The development of the school building and facilities has greatly enhanced the learning environment for children and staff, and provided an extremely valuable resource for the local community."
Andy How, Headteacher
Bradfield C of E Primary School is raising £60,000 to continue to develop the school building for the staff and children.
The Story So Far
In 2008 The Primary Project was launched to raise funds to equip Bradfield C of E Primary School for the twenty-first century. With your help the project raised £195,000 and the school has been transformed.
The hall has been beautifully designed and includes a kitchen, toilets and storage area. It is the perfect place to worship, have games lessons, performances and eat. The money raised also gave the school new heating, a library, quiet room, PE office, games store and new entrance.
What's Next
The Primary Project now enters a second phase, with the development of the old hall and now redundant kitchen. This is the next step towards giving the children and staff all the space they need, and will include:
- a seventh classroom
- a secure entrance for visitors
- a headmaster's study (with enough space for meetings)
- a bursar and school administrator's office
- a medical room and disabled toilet
The second phase will also include the creation of a new infant play area and additional fencing to the west of the new hall.
The total cost for this development will be £350,000, and we are privileged to have been awarded £290,000 by Oxford Diocese, especially in these times of reduced government funding.
Our commitment is to raise the additional £60,000.
These plans are not to support additional pupils, but to improve provision for the current number of children, and address the challenges we face in the twenty-first century. The development will also provide an excellent and available resource for the local community of Bradfield and Stanford Dingley.
Bradfield C of E Primary has proved to be an enriching and vibrant part of the local community. We are asking you to help us raise the money to continue to improve its facilities and the services it offers.
